Effective Plastic Surgery Marketing Tips that You Can Do Every Day

Craig De Borba

Plastic surgery marketing tips headline with red background.

Note: While these plastic surgery marketing tips are simple to implement, I promise you that when it comes to bringing in more patients for your plastic surgery practice, they’re deadlier than the buzzer beater three-pointers of Stephen Curry.

That being said, be sure to implement the things that you’ll learn in this guide. These tips are tried and tested to work.

Let me guess: With all the things that you need to do in the clinic (like providing consultations, follow-ups, and patient education, etc.), you barely have enough time to market your plastic surgery services, don’t you?

I don’t blame you.

After all, with how sensitive the responsibilities are of a plastic surgeon, you’d have to give your responsibilities 100% of your attention.

However, even having said that, you’d still have to market your services if you’d like to get paid.

And so the question becomes: How exactly will you be able to market your cosmetic surgery services if you don’t have enough time for it?

I’m glad you asked.

If you’re looking for surgeon marketing ideas that are tried and tested to work — yet aren’t as complicated and time-consuming — then you’re in the right place.

I’m going to share with you 3 effective plastic surgery marketing ideas that you can do daily to help you bring in more patients for your cosmetic surgery services.

Let’s hop right in.

1. Use Twitter search.

Yup. It’s that simple.

Create a Twitter account (if you don’t have one, yet), then use Twitter’s search box for relevant keywords.

Since we’re talking about plastic surgery marketing strategy here, I entered the keyword phrase “nose job,” and here’s what I got.

Forum search for people seeking a nose job surgeon.

Plastic surgeons that find patients in forums, Q&A boards needing help.

What do you think about the search results?

They’re pretty amazing, don’t you think?

At this point, the only thing left for you to do is to reach out to these people to offer your services.

While not all of them will say “yes,” they’re still a good set of audience to target since they’ve shown interest in the type of services that you’re offering.

Bonus tip: Don’t go for the “Contact us now for your nose job,” approach. Instead of pitching your services to your prospects on your first message, I urge you to warm up the relationship first.

These are some of the many ways that you can go about doing this:

  • You can ask them if they have questions about the surgical procedure, then offer to answer their questions for free.
  • You can funnel them to one of your guides, blogs, or videos about the surgical procedure, so they’d be able to learn more about it and contact you if they’d ultimately decide to go for the surgery.

2. Create informational videos about plastic surgery.

Nope.

When I said “create informational videos,” I didn’t mean Hollywood level videos.

You just need a decent camera (your smartphone can even do the job), then start capturing a video of yourself educating your audience about plastic surgery.

You can talk about tips, the dangers that your audience needs to avoid, best practices, or insider knowledge about plastic surgery that will dispel whatever misconceptions they have about it that’s keeping them from pushing through with booking a consultation with you.

The key point here is for you to provide value by way of educating them about the surgical procedure.

The more you answer their questions about plastic surgery, the more you’ll stick to their minds as their go-to-guy for plastic surgeries.

Bonus tip: You can even feature your patients in your videos so they can share their testimony of how happy they are with your services.

Once your hesitant would-be patients see the video testimonials of your satisfied patients, their reluctance or fear towards the surgical procedure will ultimately subside.

(Be sure to ask for permission from your patients first for the testimonial videos. Once you get a green light from them, then you can start initiating the video.)

3. Monitor the web for relevant mentions.

Did you know that there are online tools that can monitor the internet for mentions of keywords that you’re tracking?

What’s even better news is these sites will even notify you via email (usually via email) once the keyword you’re monitoring is mentioned.

For example. You can track the phrase “need a nose job.”

That way, should anyone mention those set of words either via blog posts, forums, comments, or even social media posts (among other types of content), you’ll get notified via email.

Once you get the notification, you can then reach out to the person who mentioned the phrase so you can investigate further and see if the person is really in need of a nose job (or your plastic surgery services).

One such tool that can do the things that I shared above is Talkwalker.

If you’ll go to their “Alerts” feature (which is free, by the way), this is what you’ll see.

Screenshot of talk walker alerts to get a notification of a specific topic.

After you fill in the required details, you will start receiving email notifications from Talkwalker should anyone mention the keywords/phrase that you’re tracking.

What’s next?

With how easy to use these plastic surgery marketing tips are, you’d be able to do these daily even if you’ll only allocate 30 minutes of your time.

If you’re still looking for more plastic surgery marketing tips that you can use for your cosmetic surgery practice, then reach out to us through our “Contact Us” page , we’ll be more than happy to help you with your marketing needs. Cheers!

3 Actionable Plastic Surgeon Marketing Ideas that Work Like Magic

Craig De Borba

Surgeon on the computer looking for the best surgeons marketing tactics.

If your patients can’t see you online, then the chances are good that they’re ONLY seeing your competitors.

That’s a bad thing, of course.

Not only will your competitors be in a great spot to funnel all of your patients into their landing pages or their contact pages — therefore, converting them into paying clients — but they’d also be able to establish their brand as an authority in the industry, as well.

Don’t let that happen to you, OK?

Allow me to share with you 3 actionable plastic surgeon marketing ideas that you can use to dominate your competitors.

Let’s hop right in.

1. Frequent on plastic surgery related forums and communities.

Just a quick Google search using the keyword plastic surgery forums will show you several relevant forum sites.

Screenshot of Google search results for plastic surgery forums.

At this point, the only thing you need to do next is to create an account on these sites so you can join their community, then answer the questions that the people have about plastic surgery.

There are several good things to be said about this strategy:

  • It showcases your expertise in plastic surgery.

Just by adding comprehensive and value-packed answers to the questions raised by the patients in the forums, you’d be able to establish your brand as an expert.

The crucial bit is for you to add answers that are actually helpful.

Simply saying, “That’s great,” “You look stunning” or “I agree with your opinion,” isn’t going to take you anywhere.

  • You’ll get more visibility.

The more threads you participate on, or the more questions you answer, the more visible you become to your target audience.

  • It is perfect for relationship building.

When you answer other people’s questions, you’re practically helping them with their problems.

And since you’re doing it for free, then the users will be even more appreciative of your help.

The scenario is a perfect build up for establishing a meaningful relationship with your audience.

Remember that while they might not need a plastic surgery now, there’s a good chance that they — or their connections — might need one in the future.

When that happens, you can bet your family jewels that they’ll come looking for you since you’ve already established a good relationship with them.

Note: You can also use Facebook to look for other plastic surgery related communities

Illustration of how to find groups by topic in Facebook.

So you can find more relevant keywords, you can use tools like Hashtagify.

This is the result you’ll get if you’ll enter the keyword plasticsurgery in their search box.

Spiral map showing keyword in the center and variations, similar topics around center.

Once you have these additional keywords, you’d be able to find more groups and communities that are interested in your service.

2. Publish before and after plastic surgery pictures on your social media profiles.

Before and after plastic surgery pictures are one of the best surgeon marketing tips ever used on the internet.

Not only would it give your would-be patients a clear idea of how much of an improvement they can get through your services, but before and after pictures also often does such a great job at becoming viral.

Of course, the more viral your social media posts are, the more visibility your brand gets.

The buzz that your before and after pictures will generate can help you get truckloads of leads or inquiries about your plastic surgery services.

Another point worth mentioning about the surgeon marketing strategy is the fact that it can showcase the quality of your work.

It’s no secret how some people are contemplating about getting plastic surgery. And the only thing that’s stopping them is they worry about the outcome or the risks that come with it.

When these interested (yet reluctant) people can see the quality of your work, it drastically reduces their fear of the procedure, making it easier to influence them to set an appointment with you.

3. Rank locally by being consistent with your NAP.

Screenshot of Google map results for local surgeons.

NAP refers to your Name, Address, and Phone Number. These details are crucial when it comes to helping you rank your Google My Business.

If you aren’t consistent with your plastic surgery clinic’s NAP when creating your profiles on other websites (like directory sites or social media sites, etc.), then you’ll end up confusing the search engines.

When that happens, you’ll have a hard time ranking your Google My Business and doing plastic surgery SEO, for the local searches.

With how inclined your patients are to using Google when finding the nearest plastic surgeon in their area, you’ll only miss out on a lot of leads (even clients) just because you aren’t showing up in the local search results.

What’s next?

The actionable surgeon marketing ideas that I shared aren’t just great in theory; they are tried and tested to work.

That being said, if you’re having a hard time getting leads or clients online for your plastic surgery services, then I urge you to start using the tips. Cheers!

Hire A Sacramento SEO Company In 6 Easy Steps

Craig De Borba

Over the last year there has been a rise in Sacramento freelancers and advertisers hitting the the pavement to round up any local business they could to sell them SEO services and you may have noticed the rise in companies doing Sacramento SEO. Facebook is flooded with so called “experts” who took a 4 week course on selling SEO to Sacramento businesses, many of whom have never ranked a site or generated traffic before.

To help you navigate the spam emails and phone calls your getting daily as a local business owner, I put together some marketing tips to help you hire the right Sacramento SEO specialist to help you increase your organic traffic and rankings.

Trends change, search engine algorithms change, the way consumers use the internet change, it is important to keep up with this in order to stay ahead of the game and be able to deliver great results.

Red SEO image profiling the world.

When searching for a Sacramento SEO how do you choose the right company?

So here we are going to get to the meat and potatoes and how to weed through the companies offering SEO services. Some of these may or may not be important to you. Like having the company be Local is pretty big to some business owners I have spoken with and if you think of one that is important to you and its not here, feel free to leave a comment and I will add it.

#1 Results

Q: Is there company ranking for their own market or service?
When you Google the service your looking for (sacramento seo company, internet marketing sacramento, etc) does that company appear in the top 10?
Q: Are their clients on Page 1?
Where are their clients ranking and ask to see proof.  Some agencies don’t like to expose their clients rankings especially if you’re a competitor to their client, but any reputable SEO marketing agency should be able to provide you with case studies, verifiable results, and references.

#2 Customer Service and Communication

Q: How big is there company?
You may or may not want to work with a very large SEO company.  Many business owners I have spoken with have had terrible experiences working with large companies, because they treat you like a number.
There is no personalization and you more than likely will have an intern or at best customer service account manager that has no clue what is actually being done on your campaign.

Another very common story I hear is that there SEO/web designer/PPC expert/brochure designer disappeared and took weeks to reply to their support questions. So, how responsive is that company?

When you requested a consultation how long did it take for them to respond? You want to make sure that the communication is very high and fast.

#3 Are they Interested in YOU

Q: What questions are they asking you?
Are they trying to learn about your current Sacramento business status, future goals, and current marketing performance or
are they just trying to sell you a package?

A professional consultant will take time to interview you, to get in-depth details about your business, services, and target customers. They will be interviewing you just as much as you are interviewing them.
A professional SEO consultant will want to make sure you’re going to be a fit for them just as much as you want to make sure they will be a fit for you.

They are going to be interested in increasing your revenue and not just selling you a program.

#4 Location

Q: Is the company even located in the US?
This may or may not be important to you but I think it is important to most local businesses. I have spoken to many business owners who are giving me time just because I am here in Sac. They are getting hit with many calls a day from companies not in California and some not even in the U.S.

It is also very nice to meet someone you’re going to be working with, shake their hand, and speak face to face if at all possible.

#5 References

Q: Do they have a few clients past or present that you can speak to?
You don’t need 100 names but a few people to confirm they’re delivering real results and people are happy with them is always nice. Case studies can also fulfill this requirement.

#6 Cost

Q: Are there services really cheap?
SEO companies that offer really cheap pricing you should proceed with caution. By cheap pricing I would say anything under the $500 per month mark. Depending on the geographical region and number of keywords of course, but that is a pretty good benchmark.

Legitimate SEO services are not cheap and behind the scenes the service will have a lot of moving parts. There is content writing, outreach, back linking, research, strategy, management, just name a few.

An analogy I heard from a fellow SEO was that a full-time Starbucks employee has a salary of about $1,500 per month, to make coffee. It is not very real that you can pay someone less than a Starbucks employee to grow your business.  SEO is a specialized field.

An exceptional winning service that delivers the best results will cost money and there is no way around that. In the end, it’s the results that matter.

How Successful Businesses Use External Backlinks

Craig De Borba

I still remember the days of link farms where tons of links would be shoved into a single page. It was a mess, but it worked.

Fortunately, what worked back then no longer works today.

This does not mean that external backlinks should be avoided. Rather, when you do use them, make sure that the techniques you are implementing bring you the right type of attention.

5 Paths to Success with External Backlinks

The following 5 strategies are rock solid for 2017. However, they might not be the only options to consider. While reflecting upon the following details, if you find a point that should be included please feel free to share it in the comments below.

  1. Creating Press Releases

A press release introduces new and returning viewers to key points about your local Sacramento business. While you can hire a SEO to help you with this make sure it is newsworthy and not just to increase rankings, it is a strategy that will typically backfire on them.

Done right you can generate quite a positive flow of attention for your brand with press releases. Attempting to tap into the excitement with fake news will not be advantageous for anyone, especially you and the corresponding image that you build.

If you really do have a new product people want to know about or an adjusted business objective that is important to your target audience, you have news worth writing a press release about. Just make sure that its seen as a resource of value in the eyes of your audience.

  1. Guest Posting Advantages

So many people miss the gold when it comes to guest posting. This is not your opportunity to flood someone else’s blog with references to you. It is also not time to offer low quality information that is of no value to their audience.

When you guest post, you are creating content for someone else’s blog. Let’s say they have 100 subscribers a day that come to their site. If your article is posted that translates into a possibility of 100 viewers that find your article, read your content and visit your site as a result.

I’m sure you can see the power of building a traffic funnel like that. However, what if they had 1, 3 or 5 thousand daily visitors?

  1. Building Niched Networks

Another reason to use external backlin

ks involves networking. No one is an island unto themselves, or at least they shouldn’t be. Especially when it comes to business.

The more you connect with industry Influencers within your niche the more they will think of you when referral opportunities arise. Why not offer to swap articles with associated links. Each of you offer high value to the others audience. The result will be quite positive for everyone involved, especially your viewers.Blogging bloggers on black chalkboard with marketing terminology.

  1. Opting into Sponsored Posts

The business world is full of big and little fish. Are you a little fish? At least smaller than someone you would like to have post a link to your site?

Why not offer to pay them to post your article?

No, I’m not talking about buying links here. At least not in the traditional sense that gets flagged by Google. Instead, as you are building your niched network be willing to sacrifice with real content for genuine results.

  1. Using Local Business Directories

This is a huge opportunity that so many businesses miss. Especially those with a more global focus. Being listed in databases like Yelp, Google+ and the like bring you targeted audiences directly from those platforms.

Increasing the number of local directories, you are listed in means that more people will find out about you, your products and your services. Done right, that’s bound to produce positive results for your business.

Integrating Social Media into Your Solutions

We’ve outlined 5 solid ways to build external backlinks for your web efforts without saying one word about Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or any other social media network. That ends now.

Once you have these various links built it is time to share them on these platforms and others like them. Why wouldn’t you want to do that?

After all, it increases your ability to be seen which can easily mean even more customers and clients securing your products and services.

Why Worry About External Backlinks

There are several answers to this question with a major one yet to be revealed. The obvious answer is that quality backlink building services increase the amount of people that find out about you. We’ve spoken about this throughout this article.

It takes effort to be seen.

If you aren’t seen you seriously decrease the possibility of people making purchases of your products and/or services.

Be seen.

But that’s not the half of it.

As you are going about building your influence via these backlinks you are being watched.

By spiders!

Algorithm effecting spiders with the chief one of interest being integrated into Google. As your influence increases so do your organic rankings on the search engines. That means more and more people will be finding out about you while they are looking things up on the Web.

Of course, that means more traffic which corresponding leads to greater results in your bottom line ROI.

Concluding Thoughts About Building External Backlinks

As you can see, there are a multiplicity of reasons why businesses today need to be building backlinks. If you aren’t doing things to get out in front of your audience one must wonder if you really are in business at all.

External backlinks are simply one of those things you need to be found doing.

On that note, which of the above strategies have you used with success? Please share your experience in the comments below.

If per chance your still on the fence about the power of backlinks and why you need them, we’d like to hear from you. What are your questions, your concerns, your thoughts? Feel free to share those in the comments below and let’s become the success of the web.

30-Minute Day-to-Day Marketing Plan for Busy Solopreneurs

Craig De Borba

Marketing Plan

* Important note before your start reading: The points we’ll cover aren’t your run-of-the-mill marketing tips. Despite you being able to the execute the marketing plan within 30 minutes, I promise you that IF you take action on the tips, then you’d be able to garner fantastic results out of these strategies whether you’re trying to get more traffic, leads, or sales.

I get it: Being a solopreneur is no cake walk. Not only would you have to produce your actual products/services, but you’d also have to take care of your accounting, inventory, and client management (among other things).

With all the hats that you’d have to wear, you can’t help but set aside some aspects of your business to do your online presence management.

For most solopreneurs, marketing is the one aspect that they choose to neglect. They do this with a sting in their heart since they know full well how their ability to find and get more clients (more money) is tied directly to their internet marketing efforts.

And so the question becomes: How exactly are you supposed to find time to market your business, if you’re dead busy with all the things that you have to do as a solopreneur?

I’m glad you asked.

I’m going to share with you a 30-minute marketing plan that you can use daily. As I mentioned earlier, if you’ll stay committed to using them, I promise you that you’ll get amazing results out of these one way or the other.

Do you like what you’re reading, so far?

Let’s hop right in.

1. Offer to repurpose other people’s content.

Here’s how the process looks from a 30,000-foot perspective:

Step 1: Look for articles with a decent amount of traffic or shares.

Step 2: Reach out to the author of the articles. Thank them for sharing the helpful tips which they shared in their article, then offer to create an infographic version of the entire piece (for free).

Step 3: Wait for their reply. Once they say “yes,” ask if you can contribute to their already published article. Since you’re going to create a free infographic for them, their chances of accepting your offer and giving you a link drastically increase.

Step 4: Get someone to create the infographic for you.

Step 5: Send the author the free infographic and your contribution to their tip.

Looking at the steps that I shared above, I’m sure you can see how self-explanatory and easy they are to execute. You don’t need to learn any new fancy (let alone complicated) social media tools or to spend countless hours writing an article.

You just need to reach out to writers who wrote amazing content pieces, offer to create an infographic version of their content, then create a 1 – 2 paragraph write-up (with your website’s link in it) that the author can insert in their write-up.

To help you with finding the content pieces that have a significant number of shares (and their authors), you can use Buzzsumo.

Marketing Plan

Marketing Plan

When you have these details readily available, you won’t have to spend minutes looking for the high-quality articles that have garnered several shares. You can immediately proceed with sending outreach messages to the authors.

To help you with the infographic, you can hire someone from Fiverr.

Just enter the keyword “infographic” in the platform’s search box, so you’d be able to see all the sellers who can create the infographics for you.

Marketing Plan

If you scroll some more, you’ll find several more graphic designers who can create the infographics for $5.

Marketing Plan

* Bonus tip: Use a customizable outreach template. That way, you won’t have to keep on writing your outreach messages from scratch.

2. Connect with influencers through Twitter.

Before I go into the details of this strategy, I want to remind you that Twitter has limits when it comes to their daily following, the number of tweets a user can publish daily, or the number of daily direct messages that can be sent (among other things). That said, I urge you to be mindful of their guidelines lest your account gets suspended.

You can read about Twitter’s limits here.

This marketing strategy is pretty straightforward:

Step 1: Use Twitter’s search box to find the influencers within your niche.

Step 2: “Follow” the influencers.

Step 3: When they follow you back, send them a private message thanking them for the follow, then ask about what they do.

Step 4: After they tell you what their job or business is about, look for opportunities on how you can strategically pitch your services.

Through this marketing strategy, not only will you be able to grow your Twitter followers (which is always a good thing), but your chances of being able to find new customers, co-author a new ebook, or contribute to other people’s websites (and much more) drastically increases.

When using this strategy, remember to use Twitter’s filters so the platform will only show you the user profiles and not videos, photos, or news (among others).

Marketing Plan

Marketing Plan

Here’s how the search results would look if you don’t click the “People” filter.

Marketing Plan

If you click the “People” filter, however, you’ll see nothing but Twitter profiles that are relevant to your keywords.

Marketing Plan

When you’re on this page, you’ll find it a lot easier to follow other users.

* Bonus tip: Don’t pitch your services on the first direct message that you’ll send to the other user. Ask about who they are first, what it is they do, or if there’s anything you can help them with. Doing so will show the other person that you’re genuinely interested in them and are even willing to help them in any way you can.

In a lot of cases, I find myself offering my services on my 3rd or 4th reply to the user.

What’s next?

Here’s the thing, while the strategies that I shared are tried and tested to work and will help your web growth, none of these will do you any good if you don’t look trustworthy enough. That being said, before you even attempt to use any of these strategies, please make sure that you have a professional looking website, email signature, and social profiles (among other things). That way, when your audience starts to do their homework by digging you up on the internet, they’d be more inclined to trust you with their time (and money), since you look like someone who can provide value.

If you found the 30-minute marketing plan that I shared to be useful, then please take three seconds of your time to share the post. Cheers!

How to Create Natural Backlink Growth for Your Sacramento Business Website

Craig De Borba

As Sacramento business, owners pushing hard to increase your search engine rankings one factor to consider if you’re considering outsourcing your SEO is how do you make your backlink growth look natural even if outsourcing to a Sacramento SEO service?  In this video I break down the SEO growth curve of a website, the natural growth curve a website goes through as well as some unnatural curves.

If you think about, what is the first thing you do when you launch your website?

You’ll probably tell some friends, right?

You’ll share on social media and maybe email some people, asking them to come check it out!  Then, you’ll get listed in the all the business directories – Yelp, BBB, Google Maps, Chamber of Commerce, etc.  And this sharing on social media will continue to occur throughout the growth of your business.

Next, you’ll want to issue a press release to get even more exposure.  One of the things most businesses forget is this content should also be share through your social media channels.  So now your press releases are getting links. If you’re thinking about hiring a SEO read this post.

In this article from SEOBook they do a great job of breaking down the backlink growth curve.

Link growth profile illustration graph.

Our spiky growth curves will most likey occur when issuing a press release, a piece of content goes viral, or some other big promotional effort.

As long as you didn’t spam or hire some SEO for $49 a month, then you’re probably safe. 🙂

Quality backlinks will usually stick (meaning not be removed or deindexed) leaving you with a higher level of backlinks.

Whichever methods of linkbuilding you are doing you want to be aggressive while still maintaining a natural growth and you want to be consistent.

Just building a couple links a month is really not going to get you to where you want to be.  You’ll want to keep promoting until you reach the spot where the site is getting good amounts of organic traffic and in the positions for the keywords you want.

Promoting your website is a bit like any other competition.  You train, you compete, you train more or you retire.  If your business reaches the top position and you stop promoting and building links, eventually one of your competitors whom is still linkbuilding will overtake your position.

Typically SEO campaigns can last anywhere from 6 months + depending on the competition in that market, because it takes a natural growth curve to establish a ranking that will be stable.

And stable rankings is what we all want.

Psychology-Backed Marketing Tips that can Skyrocket Your Conversion Rate

Craig De Borba

Psychology Backed Marketing Tips

When you have truckloads of psychology-backed marketing tips in your conversion rate optimization bag o’ tricks, you’ll find that increasing your website’s conversion rate can be like biking downhill. It’s painless.

Sure. The increase in your conversion rates might not always be astronomical; however, you’ll find that most of the marketing strategies you’ll run — if they are psychology-backed — will, in most cases, yield positive results.

If you’ve been struggling with your website’s conversion rate, and are quite unsure of how to solve your problem, allow me to share with you these psychology-backed strategic marketing tips.

Note – The tips I’ll be sharing with you are tried and tested to yield positive results. These aren’t just experimental ideas that I came up with just now. A good number of marketers and business owners are using them and are reaping good results out of the strategies.

That being said, be sure to take the time to apply the things that you’ll learn from this post. Remember that simply reading and learning will get you nowhere. If you truly want to improve your website’s conversion rate, then you need to take action. And you need to take action now.

1. Increase your product’s’ perceived value.

Out of all the definition that I saw on the web of what perceived value is, no other resource explains it better than Investopedia. Here’s their definition of the term.

“Perceived value is the worth that a product or service has in the mind of the consumer. For the most part, consumers are unaware of the true cost of production for the products they buy; instead, they simply have an internal feeling for how much certain products are worth to them.”

The part where Investopedia mentions, “in the mind of the consumer” is a crucial bit.

If you’re wondering why other online sellers take the time to add ebooks, free training materials, or a free consultation — on top of the actual product that they’re selling — that’s simply because they want to increase their product’s perceived value.

The more items the customers can get from buying your products (whether the additional items are tangible or intangible), the higher your products’ perceived value becomes.

If you head over to the Warrior Forum to view their WSOs (Warrior Special Offers), you’ll see how a lot of sellers are using this strategy (for more about special promotions read Holiday email campaigns).

Psychology Backed Marketing Tips

Here’s another example.

Psychology Backed Marketing Tips

And another one…

Psychology Backed Marketing Tips

While giving away additional items can certainly increase your product’s perceived value, there are other strategies you can use to help you with that end. For one thing, you can add exclusivity to your products. You can also add testimonials, a scarcity element to your offers, or you can improve your product’s aesthetics (among other things).

2. Deal with your customers’ fear of loss.

“The fear of loss is greater than the desire for gain.” – Zig Ziglar

That right there is a timeless lesson about closing a sale that we can learn from Zig Ziglar. It doesn’t matter whether you’re selling your services over the phone, in newspapers, Google listings, or through your website, you need to address this roadblock if you want to improve your conversion rate drastically.

Here’s the thing, every time you pitch your products or services to your customers, they are going to have to make a decision on whether or not they are willing to “lose” their money in exchange for your products.

Since our natural tendencies as humans is to fear loss more than desire gain, it becomes challenging for us sellers to convince the customers to part (or lose) their money, in exchange for gaining something of value to them (our service and products).

And so the question becomes, how do I get over this hurdle?

While there are several ways to answer this question, a popular solution that most marketers and online sellers are using are money-back guarantees.

Psychology Backed Marketing Tips

What makes money-back guarantees so powerful is it keeps your customers from feeling that they are about to “lose” something. After all, if they bought your product and your product managed to deliver value, then they’d feel like winners at that point.

If they feel that they aren’t satisfied with your product’s performance, however, then they can simply request their money back and not suffer any loss from the failed transaction.

(Note – While money-back guarantees are great, be careful with using this strategy since it can lower your product’s perceived value or damage your brand image.)

3. Add an element of scarcity in your pages.

Procrastination. That is one of the many reasons why your web visitors aren’t buying from you.

Your customers might have liked your product. However, if they don’t have any reason to make the purchase immediately, then the chances are they won’t.

They’ll just click away while keeping a mental note of your product and get back to it later once they feel the urgent need for it.

When that happens, you have most likely lost the sale.

Don’t count on them to come back to your site (too much) to buy your product at a later date. With all the distractions online, they will most likely forget about you. Also, with how cutthroat the competition is on the internet, it’s highly likely for them to find your competitors products/services and be influenced by your competitors to buy their products. Because of this, you need to find ways to compel them to buy your products immediately when they are on your product pages.

Of course, adding an element of scarcity to your product pages can help you with just that. Remember that human beings have a strong inclination towards the fear of loss. If you add an element of scarcity, you’re practically telling them that they’re about to lose the opportunity of having your product if they don’t take action now.

Since they fear losing the opportunity of buying your product, then it compels them to take immediate action on your offers.

While there are several ways to add an element of scarcity to your pages, I have found that adding a countdown timer or showing the number of stocks available for your products can do wonders for online sellers.

Looking at the second screenshot (the one from Amazon), you’d be pretty compelled to buy the laptop immediately if you were thinking of buying it. After all, there’s only one in stock left. If you don’t buy it right then and there, then you might lose the opportunity of having the laptop since others might buy it first.

How to Rank Your Google Maps Listing in Sacramento

Rank Your Google Maps Listing

Let me guess: You are looking for that one silver bullet that will get your Google Places page to rank number one in the Google Maps listing, aren’t you?

I don’t blame you.

After all, for a lot of local business owners, ranking number one in the Google Maps listing is the next best thing since sliced bread. Not only can ranking lead to bajillions of sales, but the business owners can also benefit from generating truckloads of leads and brand recognition — all of which are crucial to a business’ success.

And so the question becomes, what are the crucial things that you need to do that will help you improve your Google Maps listing?

I’m glad you asked.

I’m going to share with you 5 tips that will help you with just that.

Let’s hop right in.

1. Add your business in several business directory sites.

Improving your local business’ ranking boils down to Google verifying that your business is legitimate. The more your business name, address, and phone number is listed (or mentioned) in other sites, the more Google will see your business as legit — which ultimately helps you with ranking.

There are several ways that you can go about getting the citations (you can check your citations using Onpoint citations scan) . For one thing, you can look for business directory websites where you can add your business information.

If you aren’t familiar with how to find business directory websites, then you can use these advanced Google search queries:

Business Directory inurl:”About us”

Business Listings inurl:”About us”

2. Be consistent with your NAP.

NAP stands for name, address, and phone number.

While adding your business details on several directory sites is crucial, if you aren’t doing things right, the chances are good that your marketing efforts will end up going to waste.

What do I mean by “aren’t doing things right,” you might want to ask?

Well, for starters, if you aren’t writing your NAP the same exact way on each site that you’re adding your business details to, then you won’t get much out of your marketing endeavor.

If you’ll miss adding your street address (among other details), you will most likely confuse Google. After all, if the business you listed in business directory site #1 is the same as the business that you listed in business directory site #2, then both should have the same business details, right?

If the details aren’t identical, Google might see both businesses as different entities, when in reality, they’re just one and the same business.

3. Use a local telephone number.

Instead of using a toll-free number, you’d be better off using a local number for your Google listing instead. This helps Google verify all the more that you, in fact, have a business in the local area.

If you are keen on sharing your toll-free number, then you can add the information on your website.

4. Optimize your business page.

If you are truly serious about wanting to rank your Google Maps listing, then you need to give due diligence in creating your business page and do linkbuilding.

For example, you need to take the time to optimize your listing’s description by adding relevant keywords to it. Instead of saying, “seasoned digital marketer,” you can say “seasoned digital marketer based in Sacramento” instead.

Doing so will give Google even more confirmation about the identity of your business.

5. Get reviews.

Get others to review your page. When your Google business page has positive reviews, that will tell Google that you are a trustworthy business — one that is worthy of getting ranked.

However, if your business page doesn’t have any reviews, then Google wouldn’t be able to use Google reviews as a gauge to measure how “rank-worthy” your business is.

Allow me to share with you three of the best strategies that my team and I are using to grow the number of reviews on our clients’ pages.

1. Offer discounts or freebies in exchange for reviews.

Imagine offering your customers a 20% discount on their purchases in exchange for reviews on your business page?

Do you think they’ll ignore your offer?

If you’re like most people, then you’d be more than happy to write a review. After all, not only would it only take you seconds to write the review, but you’d be able to save a couple of $$$ (depending on how much you’d purchase) which you can use on more important matters.

2. Straight up ask your customers — the satisfied ones — to leave their reviews.

If you’ve been giving your customers nothing but the best service, then I’m guessing that you’ve had several of them reaching out to you at this point, telling you how happy they are with your company.

While there’s no way for me to tell how you’ve been responding to the positive reinforcements that your customers are giving, I urge you to take advantage of these favorable situations by asking them to leave a positive review on your Google business page.

Considering how they’re pleased with your service, the chances are good that they’ll do as you asked, and leave a review on your Google listing — a positive one at that!

3. Use contests.

Here’s a scenario: You sent your existing customers an email telling them that you are running a contest. You then proceeded by saying that the contest’s prize is an (insert an item that you know they’d die for).

How do you think would they respond if you’ll tell them that the only entry requirement is for them to leave a review in your Google Maps listing?

Do you think they’ll add a review to your listing so they can join the contest, or not?

While there are certainly some exceptions to the rule, I’m sure you’ll agree with me if I say that most of the people will add reviews so they can join the contest.

While there are several methods that you can use to go about getting more reviews, the three tips that I shared above should be deadly enough to move the needle for you.

That being said, be sure to use the tips, and not just read and forget them.

(After seeing the results from having used the points that I shared, you are more than welcome to come back and share your experience in the comments section below.)
